Born in Kenya, I spent much of my childhood beading and sewing, and this was where my passion for crafting first started.  I moved to the UK at the age of 16 and started working for the NHS, but kept crafting as this is what I loved to do. I was made redundant in 2002 and decided to turn my hobby into a business, teaching card-making classes and combining this with baby-sitting duties once the grandchildren arrived!

In 2019 I decided to retire and have spent the last few years learning new crafting skills at home, which has helped me relax whilst still maintaining my love of crafting.  Crafts by Banu is a portfolio of my work to offer inspiration to others.
